Brenda Trotman – Benourished CEO:


I am passionate about food and wellbeing. I am a chef by trade with a depth of sales experience within the Food Service sector and I love the diverse nature of the New Zealand Food Industry

I returned to University and completed a conjoint Degree in Secondary School Food Technology and Tourism/Hospitality Business Management. I was privileged to have 3 years as Head of Department Food Technology at Westlake Boys High School in Auckland before returning to senior Food Service sales roles in NZ.

My life journey has now seen me purchase Be Nourished. My dream for Be Nourished is to nurture the growth of the business, develop a great team, and grow our organic portfolio, focusing on local New Zealand produce.

Where Be Nourished all began…

Benourished was founded in 2007 by Joanna Nolan, a mother of 2 who was looking for ways to nourish her family to be in the best health possible. It was during this quest for more knowledge about healthy foods that Jo realised in order to reap the benefits of an organic, raw sauerkraut – made from local ingredients – she was going to have to make it herself.

Jo refined her recipes over the ensuing years to come up with a product that excelled in both flavour and nutricion value. A tradition that Benourished continues to adhere to.
